What always astounds me is how people are afraid of conflict or the idea of conflict in the context of saying no.
They would do anything to avoid having to say no thanks in person, face to face.
This hurts when we have a relationship with someone. When we feel that we deserve the courtesy of someone actually saying no face to face.
I had a number of these encounters the past week and it was interesting to observe the different responses of people.
